Kat at Tenaciously Yours has posted information about “a prompt-a-day series for the month of December that is meant to give us all the chance to reflect on 2012 and the opportunity to write down our hopes and dreams for the coming year.” Her post and the details are here. I have fallen behind in Reverb 12 posts, but am going to attempt to catch up…
Song: What has been your theme song this year? Have there been several? Make us a mix tape and tell us the meaning behind it.
School’s Out by Alice Cooper was the first song I put on my summer playlist. I felt it was appropriate, not only because the kids were home with me from the end of June when school ended for them until early August when I left for the Olympics, but also because, dammit, I was freakin’ DONE SCHOOL.
It was such a relief to be done, and I was so angry about school. A little Alice Cooper was perfect for belting out while I was picking up around the house, while I was driving on the highway, while I was watching the kids run through the sprinkler in the backyard. It was multi-purpose and sort of cathartic, if that makes any sense.
