I’m Joanne, mom of two, dentist, wife, frequently-injured runner who’s trying to lose weight, get fitter, be healthy, manage stress, and set a good example for my kids. I’m not gonna lie – it’s a struggle, and being fairly Type A, I find it super-frustrating that I can be successful at so many things, but so far, not at weight loss or establishing a consistent workout routine.
I’m Canadian and live in Saskatchewan. I hate mornings (A LOT), love chocolate, would like to bake more (except then I eat it all), love to travel, and wish I could read more.
I started this blog to discuss my weight loss and fitness journey and as a way to motivate myself to stick with my goals. I’ve struggled with my weight ever since my second year of university, way back in the day (1995). Click here for my weight story. At my highest (non-pregnant) weight, I weighed 188lbs – gulp! I’ve lost weight, gained some back, lost some again, and then watched the scale go back up. I seek permanent change and consistency, along with the good ol’ work/life balance that everyone talks about, but I’m pretty sure doesn’t actually exist.
